Where’s the best spot as a spectator to watch the Hungarian Grand Prix? F1’s official site notes that most of the grandstand areas surrounding the track have solid sightlines of the F1 racing action due to the Hungaroring’s natural bowl shape.
Where is the best place to stay overnight to watch the race?
The Hungaroring racetrack is located on the northeastern outskirts of Budapest in the Mogyoród . If you want to cut down on commute times, consider staying near the racetrack in the vicinity of the M3 highway on the northern side of Budapest (east of the Danube River).
That said, we’d recommend looking for hotels and vacation rentals in downtown Budapest. There are more options to choose from and you’ll be in closer proximity to cultural attractions, dining and nightlife. Consider taking a night cruise on the Danube – the views of the Hungarian Parliament building won’t soon be forgotten!
How do you get to the race course? Are public transport options available?
The address for the Hungaroring is Mogyoród, Hungaroring utca 10, 2146 Hungary.
The Hungaroring’s website has information on how to get there by car, and shuttle bus/express train. (Please note this website is in the Hungarian language. If you need to translate it to English (or another language), simply right click on your mouse anywhere on the page and select “Translate to English”.)
Flying in for the race? Most visitors arrive to Budapest via the city’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) located about 30 minutes south of the racetrack.
